Daeyoung completes Inha University project

KOREA: Founded in 1954, Inha University in Incheon has been constructing a brand new building to commemorate its 60th anniversary. Due to open next month, the 16-storey building encompasses auditoriums, lecture rooms, laboratories and offices. Managing the A/V installation at Inha is systems integrator, Daeyoung Media Technology, which selected Allen & Heath mixing consoles for the project.

The main, ground floor auditorium has been outfitted with a GLD-112 console with AR2412 remote I/O racks to support conferences, presentations and live performances. ‘The University does not have a dedicated sound engineer for the auditorium, so we needed to install a console that was simple to configure and easy to use for different users managing a variety of events,’ recalled Gyeongeon Kim from Daeyoung Media Technology. ‘GLD was selected because of its simple preset configuration and scene selection menu.’

Away from the auditorium, a total of 12 iDR-8 matrix mixers with 12 L-6 remote controllers have been installed to manage audio distribution in the building’s 10 lecture theatres and two laboratories. Each lecture room accommodates a variety of equipment, including a smart podium paired to a wall-mounted screen that can distribute multimedia through the podium’s built-in PC. Additional audio requirements for the theatres included PC stereo audio and a CD Player, as well as wired and wireless microphones. ‘Allen & Heath’s iDR product range allows the user to easily manage an integrated audio mixing system,’ Mr Kim continued. ‘The iDR-8 rack can be installed out of sight, while the PL-6 fader panel provides easy access to key controls.’
