Digigram appoints Production Audio Services for Australian distribution

AUSTRALIA: French networking specialist Digigram has entered into a master distribution agreement with Production Audio Services Pty Ltd, describing the Australian broadcast market as ‘a trailblazer where new technology is concerned’. The agreement is effective immediately.

Based in Victoria and originally founded in 1982, Production Audio Services is home to a range of key industry brands in the Australian territory including Aviom, EAW, Audix, Powersoft and Symetrix. The company enjoys a strong domestic reputation for serving Australia’s burgeoning market of broadcasters, production and installation companies.

According to Digigram’s Nancy Diaz-Curiel, channel sales manager APAC (Asia/Pacific), the supplier is also an excellent match for the French manufacturer: ‘PAS was an obvious choice since its market coverage pretty much matches Digigram’s core businesses,’ she explained, adding that the new distributor boasts expertise in each of Digigram’s core markets: ‘Each business area is supported by a dedicated team of sales engineers, support personnel and a motivated management team’.

Ian Thomson, Production Audio Services’ broadcast products specialist is equally pleased with the deal. ‘We felt that Digigram’s products, be it sound cards or IP audio codecs such as the IQOYA range, would be a perfect fit in our product portfolio.’

While the Australian broadcast market is challenged by the enormity of Australia’s georgraphy, it has nevertheless pioneered key technologies I recent years including becoming the first territory to launch DAB+ digital audio broadcasting using HE-AAC+ encoding countrywide.
