Dim Sum TV docks its workflow with Cloudport

HONG KONG: Dim Sum TV recently switched from its traditional managed playout solution to using Amagi's Cloudport cloud-based channel playout platform. Cloudport was reportedly selected due to the scalability, reliability, security and flexibility offered by a cloud-based solution.

As part of the transition, the broadcaster transferred its content, including playlists and schedules, to the Amagi cloud and can now manage content assets, add graphics, create and edit playlists and configure feeds via a web interface from any location. The platform is designed to support the entire playout workflow, from content ingest and preparation to delivery.

‘After deploying Amagi's Cloudport solution, we went from having a cumbersome, unsophisticated playout workflow to a smooth, technically advanced operation that's much easier to control and scale,’ explained Yau Keung Chan, technical director at Dim Sum TV. ‘Even better, feature-rich, advanced graphics rendering has greatly improved the quality of experience for our viewers.’
