dLive stands out from the flock at The Golden Shears

NEW ZEALAND: Noise Productions gave a debut to its new dLive console as it once again covered the live broadcast of high-profile sheep shearing contest, The Golden Shears. The A/V company used the desk to provide the broadcast feeds to the various national and international networks covering the event.
Noise Productions has been supplying The Golden Shears for the last three years. ‘Previously, we have used our extensive stock of iLives to manage the broadcast,’ said Noise Productions’ Toby Mills. ‘However, the new dLive system allowed a single mixer to be used with audio I/O easily distributed.’
The dLive used by Noise Productions at this year’s event comprised an S7000 control surface with DM48 MixRack and DX32 expander rack. ‘The new system literally arrived two days before the event and was so easy to use that we had it up and running within minutes,’ said Mr Mills. ‘A particular advantage for this show was the Scene crossfade timer, which allowed a single operator to crossfade audio cues while also operating the vision mixer. This kept the broadcast slick and reduced the labour requirements for the three-day event.’
