AUSTRALIA: Following a long-planned and vigorous renovation, The Emerson, Melbourne’s newest super venue, made its recent grand opening complete with new audio equipment from Dynacord, Electro-Voice and Bosch.
The triple-level venue plays host to a variety of well-known DJs, attracting international guests, sporting stars, and celebrities. Equipment was installed by Melbourne’s Light Dimensions throughout the dance club, cocktail lounge, rooftop bar-restaurant, and restrooms.
The ground floor encompasses a signature bar and dance floor containing Dynacord Variline full-range loudspeakers and subs, driven by PowerH amplifiers. The level above features an intimate lounge area including VIP booths, paired with a cocktail bar and bird’s eye view of the DJ booth and dance floor below, with Electro-Voice and Dynacord loudspeakers featuring heavily throughout.
As The Emerson is situated in the heart of Melbourne, the rooftop is encircled by sweeping panoramic views of the inner city surrounds. Bosch and Electro-Voice speakers provide the acoustics for the cabana-style sun lounges, dining area, and bars on the rooftop.
Following the installation, high-quality, intelligible and punchy sound combined with even sound pressure levels has been achieved throughout the venue, the results of which were pleasing to all concerned.
