EAW strikes deal with Lake Labgruppen and Powersoft

WORLD: Lab.gruppen, and Powersoft amplifiers are set to be loaded with proprietary EAW DSP algorithms and sold alongside EAW systems as part of two new deals that have been announced at the InfoComm 2010 trade exhibition, which is taking place at the moment in Las Vegas.

The two ‘strategic partnerships’ have been struck with the intention of delivering the ‘seamless integration and optimum performance of EAW loudspeaker systems matched with Lake Processors, Lab.gruppen powered

loudspeaker management (PLM) systems, and Powersoft amplifiers’ according to Jeffrey Cox, vice president of LOUD Technologies Pro Audio Group.

He added that following the integration of EAW DSP – ‘most notably Focusing’ – within the amplifiers, ‘EAW will proudly offer a range of amplifier solutions from the best in the business’. This second phase of the arrangement is expected to go ahead in the third quarter of this year, when a further announcement is expected to take the relationship between the LOUD brand and Lab.gruppen ever further, as Michael Munch, Lab.gruppen vice president of strategic product management explains: ‘Lab.gruppen and EAW are working to expand the relationship to allow EAW access to Lab.gruppen products in providing complete system solutions’.

In the meantime, the three companies are reportedly delighted at the new deal, with Powersoft business development manager Thomas Mittelmann describing it as a ‘natural’ relationship. ‘We stand fully behind it because it's truly market-driven and will reward the trade with specifically tailored system solutions,’ he enthused. ‘Once we finalise the sales component of the relationship, the trade will be rewarded with even broader access to Powersoft amplification.’
