Electro-Voice covers Riau Main Stadium

INDONESIA: An Electro-Voice sound reinforcement system was recently installed into the 40,000-capacity Riau Main Stadium in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. The multifunctional arena took over two years to build and was designed to host major sporting events and concerts.
The client specified that the quality of the sound system for the ‘elite stadium’ was one of the most important factors for the project. Specifically, the client required a large number of speakers that could be distributed proportionately around the entire stadium to ensue that audio reached every area of the venue. Also high on the list of key factors was ‘perfect control, ease of operation and hassle-free maintenance’, as well as the overall cost of the system due to the size of the project – including maintenance costs.
After conducting several simulations and comparisons, the Electro-Voice solution was deemed the most appropriate for the stadium. The client is reported to have been impressed with ‘the evenness of the coverage, the high level of intelligibility of the systems, the ability to supervise and control each loudspeaker cabinet individually and the numerous references that Electro-Voice was able to provide’.
The solution comprised a total of 64 Eva-2082S/PI line arrays and 24 Evid 6.2T surface-mounted loudspeakers – all powered and processed by eight CPS 4.10 power amplifiers and supervised by Iris-Net software and a UCC-1 Can bus controller. The Iris-Net software allows for a multitude of possibilities for the configuration, operation and supervision of the system, and enables an operator to control and supervise every cabinet individually.
‘The impeccable service from our distributors in helping with the design and tuning of the overall system enhanced the value gained by the end-user,’ said an Electro-Voice spokesperson.
