Electrocraft invests in d&b Y-Series

INDIA: Mumbai-based rental company Electrocraft has recently added to its inventory with a d&b audiotechnik Y-series line array. Although only purchased in March this year, the system has already been put to use a number of times in the country. The purchase was made through d&b’s local distributor, Ansata.
Dwayne Das, head of audio at Electrocraft, explained the rationale behind the investment. ‘It’s got a great feature set, is lightweight and even though it’s small, it's loud and has a really nice and natural sound. It’s also got great amplification and we know the amplifier is safe even if we have 400V going through it, it’s completely protected.’
In addition to using it in Mumbai for a production of Jesus Christ Superstar, the Y-series has also been called upon for conferences and smaller band applications. ‘It’s a very flexible system,’ continued Mr Das. ‘The first event I used it for was for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra who were performing at the palace in Jodhpur. It was open air, the venue is about 60m long plus we had a full choir and it covered the whole thing perfectly, it was absolutely amazing.’
‘The service from Ansata has been great and they are a very supportive team,’ Mr Das added. ‘I’ve been dealing with them for a number of years and they’ve never said no. I’m really pleased with the investment, clients know that the d&b name is synonymous with quality and they’re manufacturing some really interesting stuff.’
