Epson Singapore shines a light on the country’s fashion industry

SINGAPORE: Epson Singapore has partnered with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to support Zhuang – Home of Singapore Designers, a pop-up retail venue that showcases fashion, art and technology. The temporary venue is the result of a collaboration between Taff (Textile and Fashion Federation Singapore) and popular Singaporean fashion retailer Tangs, with the aim being to highlight the country’s brands and fashion designers.

An art installation that forms part of the venture incorporates projection mapping used to display multiple outfit designs onto a pair of mannequins. An EB-G6970WU projector was implemented for 3D projection mapping onto the mannequins. Also deployed as part of the project were an EB-G6900 that provided corner projection onto a pair of fabric panels at a right-angle forming two large images on each panel, an EB-585Wi that supplied the mannequin with a backdrop and an EB-4650 ceiling projector.

‘We are excited to work with Tangs and Taff to showcase projection mapping at a retail mall in Singapore,’ said Tan May Lin, general manager (Sales) at Epson Singapore. ‘Through this partnership, we hope to showcase the various possibilities of 3D projection mapping technology and how it can be used to create an immersive experience for viewers. The collaboration is also part of our efforts to contribute towards the retail scene and support local designers in Singapore.’

The pop-up showcases more than 20 Singaporean designers and is based on Orchard Road until 13th April 2017.
