Facilis facilitates iPost

PHILIPPINES: ABS-CBN Corporation subsidiary iPost (Integrated Post Production) has installed four TerraBlock Hybrid24 shared storage systems at its facility in Quezon City. The Facilis solution was recommended by local reseller Media Village, who assisted in the sale, due to the manufacturer’s focus on providing ‘storage solutions for collaborative media production networks’.

The TerraBlock Hybrid24 systems reportedly uses SSD and spinning hard drives in a bid for efficiency, and provide fibre channel client connectivity of 10 Gigabit Ethernet and 16GB/s. Integrated with iPost’s content ingest facility, Facilis’ shared storage systems are setup to capture video feeds from alternative channels within a network, as well as from external sources. iPost’s eventual goal is to make the TerraBlock systems part of a larger central ingest system to manage material from acquisition through to production and delivery.

‘We evaluated several shared storage systems and the Facilis TerraBlock out-performed all,’ said Jessie Yamzon, head of postproduction at iPost. ‘Price and performance, combined with its ease of maintenance were also major factors that led to the decision.’

Of the sale of four TerraBlock sytems to iPost, James McKenna, vice president of marketing and pre sales at Facilis Technology noted, ‘Working with Media Village, our ability to meet the needs of a national broadcaster in the APAC region speaks volumes about our customer focus and product quality’.
