FBT appoints Power Sound Cambodia for distribution

CAMBODIA: Italian loudspeaker specialist FBT is to enter the Cambodian market for the first time following the appointment of Power Sound Cambodia as its distributor for the territory. The deal has been described by FBT export manager Roberto Mataloni as ‘a new opportunity for us. I don’t think many people have distribution in Cambodia at the moment and we’re proud to be there’.
Located in Phnom Penh, Power Sound Cambodia is among the country’s leading suppliers of sound and lighting equipment. Founded in 1979, the company achieved the accolade of providing audio and lighting services to the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce in 2007.
The FBT appointment reportedly follows a long period of communication between the two companies, while Power Sound director Shikleong Hor has attributed his company’s interest in the Italian manufacturer to its ‘unique design style, sound quality and most of all the fact that it is made in Italy’. The first order following the deal has been described by Mr Mataloni as ‘substantial’, and includes the Mitus and ProMaxx ranges.
Mr Hor added: ‘In Cambodia’s current market the main available brands are from China – FBT will be the first brand from Europe with high quality sound systems and competitive pricing’.
Mr Mataloni concluded: ‘This new relationship meshes well with our other territories and hopefully we’ll start to undertake the same kinds of activities in Cambodia as we currently enjoy in countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Korea and elsewhere. They will include exhibitions, seminars, and road-shows. All of those things need to be done because we want to develop the Cambodian market to become as strong as it can be.’
