FutureWorks upgrades to Barco 4K

INDIA: Indian postproduction house FutureWorks Media has reinvested in Barco projection systems, taking on a DP4K-32B 4K projector for its facility in Mumbai. FutureWorks first acquired Barco 2K systems in 2008 and returned to the manufacturer having been pleased with the imaging engine. The new 4K projector will provide improved upon the colour stability and colour matching, which are required for consistent postproduction monitoring.

‘We were Barco India’s first customers when it comes to postproduction solutions, and we’ve been extremely satisfied for almost a decade,’ said Rahul Purav, senior colourist at FutureWorks. ‘However, to stay at the top of our game, opting for the Barco 4K projector was a must. Its colour stability is top-notch, and we’re already familiar with the smooth Barco modus operandi, which was a major factor in our decision-making process.’

‘This project with FutureWorks demonstrates our commitment to generating momentum in India, not just in cinema, but in niche A/V markets as well,’ noted Barco India’s managing director, Rajiv Bhalla.
