Globe Studios invests in BigKnob

INDIA: Globe Studios has invested in a Mackie BigKnob control unit from distributor Sonotone Electronics for its primary control room facility in Santacruz, Mumbai. The studio engages in recording, dubbing and music production for a variety of mediums, including TV, film and online. The decision to invest in the Mackie control unit was reportedly made due to the desire to maximise space and the system’s flexibility.

‘We needed a compact and efficient monitor control unit since the console that we were using earlier was too bulky and took up a lot of space to do just a limited amount of work,’ explained Globe Studios chief engineer, Mukesh Lobo. ‘The Mackie BigKnob does the same work with increased efficiency, simplified workflow and minimum effort. It is compact, looks good, and is amazingly responsive. Plus, the one feature that I find really cool is the ability to have talkback without the levels going low in your headphone. We like it so much that we’re thinking of investing into more units of the BigKnob for our other studio facilities – hopefully sometime soon.’
