ASIA: Broadcast service provider Globecast Australia has expanded its international fibre network to provide connectivity with Asia. This has reportedly been achieved through the creation of a bi-directional and redundant fibre circuit connecting Globecast Australia’s Sydney Broadcast Centre with two independently located POP’s (point-of-presence) in Singapore. The network already features connectivity between Australia, New Zealand, the US and the UK.
‘Connecting Globecast Australia directly with Asia through Singapore is a milestone which presents a world of opportunities for moving content globally,’ enthused CEO of Globecast Australia.
The new fibre path is scheduled to carry premium content for Globecast customers, including Disney Channels as well as leading broadcasters Sky TV (BskyB), Sky TV NZ, TV3, TVSN, NBC, Eurosports, Sky News Australia and Foxtel.
