GLP Spot Ones illuminate Harbin Music Hall

CHINA: The Harbin Summer Music Festival is a national concert festival attracting artists from all over the world. Having first taken place in 1958, the Harbin Music Hall has since been developed to host this famous event, and as a result, boasts a ‘high-level concert spec’ technical infrastructure that includes lighting equipment from German Light Products.

Designed by Japanese designer, Arata Isozaki, the building has 20,000 sq-m of floor space with surrounding areas occupying a further 13,000 sq-m. The main hall seats 1,200, while the smaller studio room has the capacity for around 400 seats.

Working in consultation with Arata Isozaki & Associates of Shanghai, installers Guangzhou Ruisheng Lighting & Audio Equipment Co. Ltd specified a total of 42 GLP Spot Ones. In the Grand Hall, 24 are installed on the overhead truss with six deployed as a floor package. Over in the small hall, eight Spot Ones have been deployed on the overhead truss and a further four as a floor package. The fixtures were supplied through the GLP distributor for China and Macau, China-RS, which was also responsible for the audio and lighting design.
