Harman checks in at the Novotel New Plymouth Hobson

NEW ZEALAND: Systems integrator TSH Audio & Video has installed a Harman solution that combines the manufacturers JBL, Crown and dbx brands at the Novotel New Plymouth Hobson hotel. TSH worked with the local Harman distributor, Jands, to design the system.
A variety of JBL loudspeakers were installed, including Control 31 loudspeakers in the conference room. Meanwhile, JBL Control 24CT-M ceiling loudspeakers were deployed throughout the hotel for background music, each reportedly capable of providing 150-degree coverage. Control 25T loudspeakers were also installed on the outdoor dining decking.
The system is powered by Crown amplifiers, with Jands and TSH selecting the Crown DCi 2|300 and Crown DCi 4|300 multichannel models. A dbx ZonePRO 1261m digital zone processor controls the distributed sound system, which is managed by multiple ZonePRO Ethernet controllers located throughout the facility. ‘Working with the ethernet controllers makes it so easy to install and manage,’ explained TSH Audio & Video senior technician, Daniel Evans. ‘ZonePRO is a rock solid platform and is really easy to program.
‘Jands provided us with quick turnaround on design changes and the Harman vast toolbox of products came in handy when we had to come in under budget,’ Mr Evans concluded. ‘TSH was very pleased to be involved with the construction of this iconic New Plymouth project and to be working with Jands to specify a high quality audio system.’
