Harris Jayaraj sticks with Prism Sound

INDIA: Prism Sound has confirmed that renowned Indian film composer Harris Jayaraj has purchased a second ADA-8XR multichannel converter, which he has installed inside Studio H at his Chennai-based studio facility. Mr Jayaraj was already in possession of one of the manufacturer’s converters that he used for recording. The new ADA-8XR has been added to his mix-chain along with an AES card, as he has recently upgraded to using Pro Tools HDX. Darshan Kwatra, director Prism Sound’s Indian distributor, K K Internationals, personally supplied the new converter
‘Alongside the upgrade to ProTools HDX, I also added a lot of analogue equalisers and compressors to my studio so I went for another ADA-8XR converter to enhance the number of inputs and outputs (16AD and 16DA),’ explained Mr Jayaraj. ‘I am now using Prism Sound conversion for mixing as well as recording.
‘I have used lot of other converters over the last 20 years but I like the ADA-8XRs for their transparency and soft bottom,’ he continued. ‘With Prism Sound, there is much less distortion than other converters and they make my music sound even better. I use them on most recordings, from solo instruments to orchestral music. My first Prism converter, which I bought by 2007, still works without any complaint.’
