Heyuan Grand Theatre hides TW Audio system

CHINA: Following two years of construction, The Heyuan Grand Theatre has been fitted with an audio solution comprising TW Audio loudspeakers. The installer, Ruisheng Lighting & Audio Equipment Co, was tasked with keeping all loudspeakers hidden from view in keeping with the interior design of the venue, while not compromising on sound quality or intelligibility.
Concealed behind an acoustic screen above the stage on each side are six Vera10 line arrays and two B30 subwoofers, while a centre cluster of four T24N speakers was also installed. The frame of the stage disguises two M12 cabinets that serve as downfill, and 10 C5 loudspeakers are cloaked at the front of the stage, with two BSX subwoofers to flank them. A total of 24 M8 cabinets line the auditorium walls at regular intervals.
The system is powered by 18 Powersoft K3DSP amplifiers, which are secluded in a separate room. Meanwhile, four C12s and four M12s are the only speakers to not be hidden, acting as movable monitors.
‘The theatre’s owner was more than satisfied by the installation and the sound quality,’ noted Chill Yip, Ruisheng’s senior audio technician for the project. ‘Fortunately, we were involved from the beginning of construction and confronted with the challenges that all loudspeakers were to be hidden.’
