Idea names Joan La Roda senior loudspeaker designer

WORLD: Spanish loudspeaker manufacturer Idea Pro Audio has appointed industry veteran Joan La Roda as its senior loudspeaker designer. The appointment follows a successful first year of trading for the Galicia-based company.
Having started his career as a front of house and monitor engineer, Mr La Roda later earned an enviable reputation for his work in loudspeaker design and industry education. Perhaps best known to date for his time with DAS Audio, he has written about phase alignment between subwoofers and mid-high cabinets, and is described by Idea Pro Audio as ‘a telecommunications engineer and an audio professional with more than 25 years’ experience’.
‘It’s the enthusiasm of everybody at Idea and their commitment to the project that encouraged me to join in,’ commented Mr La Roda. ‘I believe that knowing what you are aiming for is far more important than your position in the market and the industry – and Idea definitely knows what it is aiming for.’
