iLive provides control and recording for New Yuanming Palace

CHINA: An Allen & Heath iLive digital system has been installed in the central theatre at the New Yuanming Palace of Zhuhai in Guangdong. The venue is a replica of the Old Summer Palace in Beijing, which was destroyed in 1860. It comprises an imperial garden, lake, pagodas and a 6,000-capacity outdoor theatre to host theatrical performances.

The multi-function theatre features a 10,000 sq-m tiered audience area and is used regularly for cultural performances and festival events. This is catered for with a FOH system comprising an iLive-T112 control surface with iDR-48 MixRack and fitted with an M-Dante network card to support live recording and playback.

‘iLive provides flexible control and extensive operational capabilities, including live recording, which means our sound system can easily manage the varied and diverse programme of activities,’ Mr Huang, project manager at the New Yuanming Palace theatre. ‘The sound quality of the system is extremely high, making every performance very special.’
