InfoComm’s Rod Brown promoted to regional director

AUSTRALIA: InfoComm has promoted Rod Brown to the position of regional director – Oceania, which will include the responsibilities of managing the education programme in the region and InfoComm certification. In his previous role with the trade association, Mr Brown served as a staff instructor, teaching InfoComm University courses, presenting seminars at industry events and delivering educational A/V webinars.

Mr Brown has been involved in sound production techniques and acoustics education for several years, as well as having been a seminar panelist for the Audio Engineering Society. His experience covers broadcast television, live theatre, concerts and cinema. In his new role, Mr Brown will also manage InfoComm membership services for the region and the Australia Advisory Group.

The first Australian to earn InfoComm’s CTS-D certification, Mr Brown also holds the CTS-I qualification and in his most recent role worked on creating new and updated learning content for the organisation. Before joining InfoComm, he was an A/V communications consultant, assisting clients in a variety of sectors, both domestically and internationally. He also contributed to the establishment of audio description of theatre performances for which he was awarded Honorary Life Governorship of Vision.

He brings extensive experience and connections within the industry to this role.’
