Jayant Datta named Audio Precision CTO

WORLD: Audio Precision has announced the appointment of Jayant Datta as chief technology officer. Working closely with VP of engineering, Tom Kite, and co-founder and chief analogue engineer, Bruce Hofer, Mr Datta will be responsible for the company’s technology strategy and product platform evolution.
‘We’re delighted to have Jayant as part of the Audio Precision team,’ said Dave Schmoldt, Audio Precision CEO. ‘His design experience, broad audio expertise and standards-based work will be key assets as we strive to continue bringing innovative solutions to audio and electroacoustic test applications in a wide array of markets.’
Mr Datta joins Audio Precision with more than two decades of audio experience and a proven track record of developing and implementing audio technologies across range of industries having most recently served as assistant vice president of audio R&D at THX Ltd. Prior to that he also held positions with Discrete Laboratories, Motorola and Wheatstone. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and master’s degrees in electrical and computer Engineering; Music Engineering) from the University of Miami.
