Kannada Sangha auditorium install completed by EampE Systems India

INDIA: The auditorium of Pune’s Kannada Sangha educational facility has been installed with a comprehensive new audio installation by E&E Systems (India), including Mackie sound reinforcement, QSC amplification and Sennheiser microphones.

Founded in 1952, Pune’s Kannada Sangha roots its education standards in Indian tradition while embracing leading technology to aid the development of its students. Falling under its umbrella are the Dr Kalmadi Shamarao (English Medium) High School with a pre-primary facility, the Kaveri College of Science and Commerce, the Kaveri Vishwabharati Language Center and the Kaveri Srujan Creativity Center for primary school students. Its new auditorium – located on the 6th floor of the school building – has been designed by Rahul Jhaveri of Jhaveri & Jhaveri, Mumbai, and is set to be used for screening educational films to students as well as hosting live events. According to E&E Systems (India), one of the key challenges for the installation was avoiding leakage into other parts of the building.

Included within the installation are Mackie HD 1531 self-powered loudspeakers, Mackie Thump 18S subs and custom-designed surround speakers which were integrated and connected through a QSC DSP 322UA matrix processor, offering users a choice of either a 5.1 mode for cinema presentations or a speech and live presentations mode. Onstage monitoring is taken care of by Thump 15 A enclosures, while a Mackie CFX20 MK2 has been supplied for FOH mixing. Power is via QSC GX5 amplifiers. Also supplied are Sennheiser microphones including Evolution 800  e845 and 835 wired handhelds, G3 wireless systems, an EW912BK boundary mic and an E 614 overhead, plus a Klark Teknik Square One graphic equaliser, a Tascam DV-D01U DVD player and CD 200 CD/MP3 player, and a Denon DN-A7100 cinema processor. A Taxan PH-1001X 4200-lumen projector has been added for cinema presentations.

Following the installation, the vice president of the Kannada Sangha, Mr KS Hegde, reportedly described himself as ‘very pleased’ with the completed system, adding particular congratulations to the on-site team, comprising Mr Gopinadhan, Roshan Malim, and Mr Purushotam.
