Kedron-Wavell Services Club upgrades with Acoustic Technologies

AUSTRALIA: An upgrade at Kedron-Wavell Services Club has included the installation of Acoustic Technologies equipment in the venue’s main Pacific Blue Room. Located in the Brisbane suburb of Chermside, the club provides regular shows by national and international artists and has reportedly become one of the premiere entertainment venues in the north of Brisbane. The 500-capacity Blue Pacific Room, the largest at the venue, is used for hosting seminars, presentations, cabaret shows and concerts.

The club’s existing 20-year old sound system was no longer fit for purpose and the club's production manager, Mick Jones, opted to invest in an Acoustic Technologies TLA508 Blackbird Line Array System as a replacement. The new system comprised 12 TLA508 line array enclosures in hangs of six per side. Low-end support is provided from four CLA LF6000 dual 18-inch subwoofers lining the front of the stage. System processing is via eight Blackbird 5K DSP amps.

The venue also chose to upgrade the FOH mixer in the Pacific Blue Room to a Yamaha CL5 digital mixing console. The output mix of the Yamaha CL5 is routed directly to the Blackbird 5K amplifiers for all DSP processing and distribution requirements.
