L-Acoustics rocks Bangalore’s first dance festival

INDIA: Bangalore’s first dance music festival took place recently at the iconic Jayamahal Palace, situated close to the centre of the city. An event such as this puts high demand onto the accompanying sound system, so supplier J Davis Prosound & Lighting opted for an L-Acoustics V-DOSC system alongwith an immersive visual display.

Entertainment for the two-day Cirkus Indigo Festival came courtesy of international EDM artists Norman Doray, Stefano Noferini, Daddy’s Grove, Justin Prime, Jack Beats, Kid Créme and many more. To top it all off, the festival features a state-of-the-art stage comprising immersive 3D installations.

The L-Acoustics system comprised of 20 V-DOSC cabinets with four DV-DOSC used as downfills, and six DV-DOSC for centrefills. A total of 16 SB 218 subs positioned in a sub arc mode provided an even low frequency coverage. All amplification came courtesy of LA-48As controlled by Dolby Lakes LP4D12. DJ equipment installed on-stage included six Pioneer CDJ-2000s and a DJM-2000 DJ mixer. Additionally, an Avid SC 48 digital console was positioned at front of house.

As well as handling audio for the event, the team erected a 20- x 12- x 7m Wiefa truss to house the show's dazzling lighting effects. A total of 32 Elation Platinum Beam 5Rs, 12 MX Prime 6000s, 24 3W Boxer LEDs, four haze machines, and two smoke machines were positioned on the truss and around the stage, all controlled via a Pearl Expert lighting console.
