L-Acoustics takes centre stage at Star Parivaar Awards

INDIA: Sound and Light Professionals (SNL Pro) was tasked with providing sound, truss, special effects and talkback systems for the recent Star Parivaar Awards, one of the biggest annual Indian television awards events. Held at the Dome-NSCI Arena in Mumbai, the production team had requested ‘the best and most innovative technology’ to set the show apart from rivals and this was catered to by SNL with an L-Acoustics sound system and Shure wireless systems.
Coverage for the 2,500 live audience members was provided by four main hangs, each consisting of six L-Acoustics Kara cabinets coupled with two SB18 subwoofers, and four delay towers each comprising four Kara cabinets and a single SB18. Two additional clusters of four Kara and an SB18 were used as side fills and the whole system was controlled and managed through LA Network Manager.
Having to accommodate a large of number of choreographed dancers, the 33m-wide stage required a selection of wireless microphone equipment. A total of 10 Shure AXT200/UR2 handheld microphones and 20 Shure AXT100/UR1 beltpacks with DPA headsets were provided for performing artists. Twenty channels of Shure receivers were connected and networked with Shure Spectrum management and monitored over Wireless Workbench software at the stage, FOH and in the production control room.
