LAcoustics Kiva purchase helps re-establish SLS

SINGAPORE: As part of an effort to re-establish itself in the rentals sector, Singapore-based SLS Pte Ltd has purchased an L’Acoustics Kiva system, describing it as ‘clean, clear and crisp with very even distribution’. The system was supplied by regional distributor Sennheiser Electronic Asia.
In recent years SLS has concentrated on video production, particularly on edge-blended screens and technical project management. The company is now seeking to expand its appeal to corporate clients with a more complete technical package, while also expanding its complement of staff. The Kiva purchase follows a period of research which saw the company trial several alternative systems.
‘With a fast turnaround in our events, we aim to set up quickly for our client, but then we’re out again just as fast. The system we wanted therefore had to be lightweight, modular and easy to set up,’ explained managing director M Karthi Kasan. ‘But in fact it was the sound quality of Kiva that we first fell in love with. Because we were keen to get this investment right, we tested other comparable products but in the end went back to our first choice.’
The new Kiva system has reportedly already been used for several SLS events, including a Hewlett Packard regional partners summit held at Singapore’s Shangri-La Hotel, and a Merrill Lynch event held at the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore.
