LaON keeps KT&G SangSang Art Hall covered

KOREA: Located near Samsung Station in Gangnam, Seoul, the KT&G SangSang Art Hall has been outfitted with a LaON Technology wireless intercom system by FlyingScott Co Ltd. Operated by KT&G, the theatre hosts various performances including musicals and concerts. The client was seeking a cable-free solution for communications between FOH, the stage, two passages leading to waiting rooms and a follow lighting room on the third floor.

FlyingScott managing director, Scott Sung, chose LaON’s LT550 system to meet the client’s coverage requirements, which has been connected with a Tecpro MS741 system through a 4-wire to 2-wire adapter. The LT550 system’s BS550 Base Station with 19-inch cascade kit was installed in the FOH area and three RBS25 repeaters were deployed at the stage and in the two passages. ‘The customer also wanted to cover the follow lighting room on the third floor with fewer RBS25 repeaters,’ explained Mr Sung. ‘Our team solved the challenge by connecting an additional high gain antenna.’ The high gain antenna and antenna extension cable were installed from the BS550 Base Station at FOH.

‘It took only around 30 minutes to install the full system including three RBS25 repeaters after the cabling,’ added Mr Sung. ‘The quick system setup is one of the advantages on the LaON intercom. The customer is highly satisfied with the system, especially for its clear audio quality, wireless coverage and system scalability, which has covered all areas of the theatre without any dead spots.’
