Lawo blow-out 40 candles

GERMANY: Some 350 customers, partners and users, long-time companions and Lawo staff members all attended the glittering occasion in the festively decorated Badner Hall in Rastatt to celebrate a company founded 40 years ago.

"Through you I have learned that a company can be very successful in a competitive environment without losing dependability and humane respect for the customer." With these words, Gerd Grunwald, laudator at the birthday celebration of the Rastatt family company, addressed founder Peter Lawo. The former Head of TV operations and Deputy Head of Production stated that the responsible approach to business partners, charisma and passion, combined with expert knowledge and everlasting enthusiasm for work had paved the way in allowing the company to develop into what it is today - a German manufacturer with international recognition. The partnership between Lawo and their customers had always been the basis for developing customised products to the mutual benefit of both.

Some 350 customers, partners and users, long-time companions and Lawo staff members all attended the glittering occasion in the festively decorated Badner Hall in Rastatt to celebrate a company founded 40 years ago. The pioneering spirit invoked by Peter Lawo hasn’t diminished in time it would seem. Current CEO Philipp Lawo now runs the business since his father's retirement ten years ago, and he described the company’s history from 1970 until present day - from analogue technology to digitally controlled analogue consoles to fully digital systems to "Networking Audio Systems". With Ravenna, a technology for the real time transfer of audio data over IP, Lawo again takes the initiative for an innovative visionary technology.

Philipp Lawo also looked back on the leaner, more difficult times when Lawo were seeking new solutions on little working capital. It would appear that their hard work paid off following the launch of their first fully digital mixing console. The mc console was the first system to be sold outside Germany and as a result Lawo has since brought new partners and customers into their family from all over the world. The speeches were followed by a performance by a Stuttgart-based capella band called "Fünf" in addition to the "Lawo Band", made up of Lawo colleagues playing songs by German jazz legend Klaus Doldinger. Both ensembles added an extraordinary touch to the atmosphere which was much applauded by the guests.
