Leading S.E.A. figures gather for second Pro Connect Asia – Singapore

SINGAPORE: The second Pro Connect Asia – Singapore networking event took place last night, drawing a mixture of systems integrators, consultants, distributors and leading industry figures to the Bank’s Bar on Shenton Way for an informal evening of food, drinks and networking. With an attendance of more than 60 invitees, the event was hailed as setting a precedent, and praised for attracting ‘the right industry figures’ from across South East Asia to an entirely new, yet laidback platform. Other successful Pro Connect events have also been held in Jakarta, Mumbai and Dubai.
James Ritter from the Music Group was surprised at the number of significant figures in attendance. ‘I’ve just flown in from China and I didn't expect this event to bring forth as many leading Singaporean figures as it has. What a night!’ he enthused.
Equally enthusiastic was Colin Quek, who commented: ‘It has been a fantastic evening! At the last Pro Connect event there were a lot of people from varying backgrounds, but I think this time around it has condensed down to the most important people in the industry – the people that really matter. So much so that I believe it has become quite important to attend. The night is very casual which allows everyone to mingle with each other, but unlike a trade show there’s no other agenda.
‘I’ve spoken to at least 15 entirely new contacts tonight as well some friends that I only get the chance to meet once a year at trade shows. The networking itself is worth so much more than just a casual meet up,’ he added. ‘I’m certain that the people who attended this second event will be back for the third. It’s a free platform and it's never been done before but I think it sets a precedent. It’s a hard act to follow!’
‘It's great to see people relaxed and chatting with friends in an informal atmosphere,’ furthered Pro Audio Asia general manager, Richard Lawn. ‘This evening has demonstrated that not only do people meet their old friends and catch up, but more importantly, they are meeting new friends and making new contacts for future business. I’m very happy that we've been able to connect these people together and kickstart their relationships.’
Following the positive feedback from attendees, Pro Audio Asia is planning to host a third networking night in Singapore in six months’ time.
