Martin Professional towers above Singapore

SINGAPORE: Martin Professional has provided lighting components for Sonictower, an outdoor art installation by sound media artist Zulkifle Mahmod. The tower was featured at the i Light Marina Bay event, a sustainable light art festival, and was an expansion of a sound installation for Singapore: Inside Out 2015, titled Alice, Did You Hear That?
The tower used VDO Sceptron 10 LED fixtures, powered by a P3 PowerPort 1500 and coordinated with a P3-200 system controller. In addition, the outdoor lighting system included an exterior wash 310 quad colour LED (RGBW) programmed with an M2GO controller.
The Sonictower comprised ‘four zones with a total of 320 solenoids and LED lights to create a rhythmic sound and lightscape,’ stated Mr Mahmod. Each zone used 64 solenoids controlled by one microcontroller. Each composition lasts about 10 – 15 minutes on a continuous loop.
‘I had a great time working with Martin lighting equipment,’ continued Mr Mahmod. ‘There are a lot of possibilities to explore further in the future!’
