Matthias Domke named MD of Microtech Gefell
Published: ASIA
WORLD: German microphone manufacturer Microtech Gefell has a new managing director in the shape of long-standing engineer Matthias Domke.
The change in management represents a significant milestone in the history of the company, as Jochem Kühnast and Christian Drechsler step away from the company’s day to day activities and move into advisory roles.
Microtech Geffell boasts one of the richest histories in the audio industry, having initially grown out of Georg Neumann’s flight from Berlin in 1943, accompanied by his then technical director Erich Kühnast and his legal advisor Mr Drechsler. Mr Kühnast and Mr Drechsler eventually found themselves running and then owning the company following complications after the establishment of the Berlin Wall and the division of Germany. Erich Kühnast was succeeded by his son Jochem Kühnast.
Having boasted a close relationship with Microtech Gefell for many years, Mr Domke has in the past worked in the studio and live sectors as well as running his own engineering office.
