MC² Audio celebrates Chinese sales

CHINA: British amplifier manufacturer, MC² Audio, has presented a special edition E50.000 amplifier to Thim Yan Fook of the company's Chinese distributor in recognition of his sales achievements. Eagle-eyed visitors to the MC² stand at Frankfurt’s Pro Light and Sound this year will have seen the special edition amplifier proudly boasting an output of 50,000W in a 22-inch-wide 2U amp rack at the booth.

While the amplifier on show at PL+S was just a teaser unit, Mr Yan Cook was handed the actual 50,000th unit, an E45, which was given a special serial number and was accompanied by a certificate of authenticity personally signed by all the people involved in the amplifier’s manufacture. He was handed the E50,000 as well, but ‘that’s one for the trophy cabinet’, says the manufacturer.

‘Everyone was walking up to the amplifier at the show, and then looking round the back to see how it had been built – that was when they realised it was an April Fool,’ recalled Mr Yan Cook. ‘It was a great way to mark this very significant milestone for MC², and we are honoured to receive one of these “amps”, plus the real 50,000th unit to come out of the factory.’

Putting this milestone into perspective, MC² notes that ‘this equates to an amplifier being built, tested, burned in, inspected and packed every working hour of every working day for the past 22 years that the company has been in business’.
