Meyer Sound increases versatility at BEXCO

KOREA: Busan Exhibition and Convention Centre (BEXCO) is now able to accommodate a wider range of functions thanks to the addition of two Meyer Sound CAL 32 column array speakers. The space was previously only suitable for floor exhibits but having reduced the reverberation time from 5s to 2.7s in combination with acoustics treatment of the walls, the space is now able to accommodate a variety of meetings, lectures, presentations and performances.
The speakers were supplied, configured and installed by Meyer Sound’s Korean distributor, Sovico, with Bone Engineering providing architectural acoustics and electroacoustic design.
‘With its precise beam steering technology, CAL has greatly reduced the sound reflected from the ceiling,’ explained Min Ho Jang, director of BEXCO’s Exhibition Centre 2. ‘Even without costly acoustic treatment for the ceiling areas, CAL allows us to reproduce high-quality sound to the audience with a very natural feeling. The speech transmission index has also greatly improved.’
