CHINA: Following his recent appointment as Media Networking Alliance (MNA) representative for Greater China, Sam Zhao has facilitated the new membership of two Chinese audio companies for the alliance. 3G Audio and Ningbo Soundking Electronics & Sound Company are the first organisations based in mainland China to join the MNA via Mr Zhao.
‘China is the biggest pro A/V market after the USA, and the global leader for pro A/V production with companies servicing both local and international markets,’ explained Mr Zhao. ‘However, there is a major challenge with intercommunication and compatibility between different networking protocols and various technical issues that AES67 helps to solve. MNA is helping many manufacturing companies and systems integrators to enhance their networking solutions, even as a brand new technical standard in China.’
Mr Zhao also serves as system application engineer, Greater China at QSC in a role that has seen him work on several notable network application projects at airports, theme parks and convention centres. He possesses an electronic engineering degree from the Beijing Broadcasting Institute has trained over 6,000 people in DSP and network transmission solutions across the country, throughout his career.
Founded in 1988 with headquarters in Dongguan City, 3G Audio manufacturers speaker and PA systems and has taken a keen interest in AoIP in regards to its future product development. ‘The thing that excites us and, clearly, a lot of rest of the audio industry about AES67, is that it is pragmatic,’ noted 3G Audio’s CTO, Ammon Ren.
‘A unified future standard for the audio industry is required due to the interconnection problem between loudspeakers and network interfaces,’ added a spokesperson from Soundking. ‘We have joined MNA to help make the technological innovation a reality, whereby we can effectively communicate with all members, participate in seminars, promote international exchanges and expand the market, and also to further improve the level of technology skills and management for our company.’
