New China manufacturing facility unveiled by Precision Devices

CHINA: Expanding its manufacturing operations outside of its core West Yorkshire-based facility, Precision Devices has announced the opening of its new China manufacturing operation with products designed and engineered exclusively for the China professional audio market.

Precision Devices managing director, Mark Barnes, said ‘we identified that China is perhaps the world’s largest single market for quality loudspeakers. Importantly the Chinese market has a number of specific product requirements in terms of performance and tonality that demands loudspeakers beyond the range of product that we manufacture in England.’

As part of its Asian growth strategy, Precision Devices has recently taken the decision to open a manufacturing facility in China – the first time in PD’s history that is has manufactured outside of its headquarters. As such, it has been investing heavily to expand its capacity to build loudspeakers that can better cater for its Chinese customers."

‘Our Precision Devices International line contains all new designs for the China market. Nothing will copy or duplicate the core catalogue range of PD products which will continue to be proudly “Made in England” said Mr Barnes. ‘The International line is designed and engineered by our design team, headed by technical director Mark Oldroyd, and feature wholly PD designs and carefully-selected materials of construction cleverly combined for the Chinese market taste with the authentic PD standards of outstanding performance, reliability and distinction.’
Keen to point out that the move to China will not impact upon the quality of its products, Mr Barnes stated, ‘We are Precision Devices, so we build to Precision Devices standards and the transducers we manufacture in China will be of the same exacting quality standards as those we make in our UK facility.’

In addition to this announcement, Precision Devices has unveiled a new product development catalogue for the UK. ‘Precision Devices is engaged in an ambitious programme of new product development in the UK in 2014 comprising innovative product design which will reinforce the company’s progression during the year ahead.’ Mr Barnes added ‘expect to see many exciting new developments from PD UK through 2014 and into 2015.’

Precision Devices is exhibiting at Guanzhou Pro Light + Sound 2014 and a representative sample of Precision Devices ‘Made in England’ and International line models will be displayed on the booth.

PD Directors Mark Barnes, Neil Barnes and Mark Oldroyd will be attending the show in association with exclusive PD distributor DSTX. They will be pleased to meet new and existing OEM clients to discuss business opportunities.
