New World Makati Hotel upgrades with Symetrix

PHILIPPINES: A recent upgrade carried out by local A/V and lighting systems specialist Systech Light & Controls to provide flexible audio distribution at the New World Makati Hotel in Manila has included the installation of Symetrix DSP equipment. The company was invited to propose a new audio infrastructure to cover the hotel’s primary ballroom, several meeting spaces, a number of guest’s bedrooms and various hallway areas.

The installed solution comprises one SymNet Solus 8 open architecture DSP, one Jupiter 8 fixed architecture DSP and one SymNet Radius 12x8 Dante-scalable DSP. Symetrix ARC-2e remote control wall panels have also been installed for ‘quick and easy’ volume control and the system was completed with JBL ceiling speakers and Lab.gruppen amplifiers to provide coverage for meeting rooms and hallways, and Bose loudspeakers in the main ballroom.

Having completed the project, Systech’s Julius Bayot has received nothing but positive comments on its ease of operation and flexibility. ‘First of all, they love the user interfaces and find them very easy to use,’ he offered. ‘Secondly, the room combining functionality is proving to be a real asset because, in particular, the meeting rooms are used in a variety of different configurations – sometimes separately for small groups, and sometimes together for larger gatherings. They also welcome the fact that it is very easy to add extra inputs if required in the future.’
