Nexo gets first positive ID in Thailand botanical garden

THAILAND: The first Nexo ID Series cabinets in Thailand have been installed in one of the country’s most popular tourist attractions – the Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden in Pattaya. A new theatre on the site has been equipped with a Geo S12 front of house solution, supported by the ID enclosures to form a 5.1 system that was designed and installed by Fuzion Far East.

A 35 year old, 500-acre botanical park famous for its elephants and tigers as well as the rare plants in its formal garden, Nong Nooch attracts approximately 500,000 visitors a year. Its original theatre was built in 1980 and required updating, leading to the creation of the new 12,000 sq-m venue which can accommodate audiences of up to 2,000.

Forming its 5.1 system is a main PA of Geo S12 cabinets in a left-centre-right configuration of three clusters each containing seven S1210s plus an S1230. A total of six RS18s provide sub-bass, flown in two groups of three above the stage, between the Geo clusters. The PA cabinets are powered by six NXAMP4x4s fitted with NXDT104 cards to facilitate a Dante network.

The ID enclosures are located at the front of the stage, where four ID24 cabinets provide front-fill. Loudspeaker processing is via Nexo’s new Dante-enabled DTD-TD controller, enabling compatibility with third-party amplifiers, in this case a Camco D amplifier to drive the ID Series enclosures.
