Nexo is the Way to go at the Seoul World DJ Festival

KOREA: For the 10th consecutive year, Way Audio provided the PA system at the Seoul World DJ Festival (SWDF), making it the only supplier to be contracted for the event every year since its inception. For the 10th edition of the electronic dance music festival, the rental company deployed a system comprising Nexo's STM Series, supplied by the manufacturer’s Korean distributer, A-Works.
Way Audio was an early adopter of the STM modular array system, making use of it at many outdoor events, as well as events consisting of the same electronic dance genre as is played at SWDF. To deliver SPL coverage across a wide audience area, a total of 21 STM M46 Main Module arrays were hung, with B112 Bass Module cabinets. Ground stacked were 21 STM S118 subs on either side, complemented by 12 units of the CD18 SubBass in front of the stage.
For stage monitors, three STM M28 compact loudspeakers atop another S118 sub and the PS15 loudspeaker formed the solution that the manufacturer informally refers to as the ‘Texas Headphones’. A combined 11 Nexo Universal Amp Racks, each holding two NXAMP4x4 amplifiers, powered the PA system.
Dutch electronic dance music producers, Q Dance, collaborated with the event organisers for the festival at the Song-Am Sports Complex in Chuncheon. In addition to Q Dance DJs Atmozfear and Noisecontroller, the line-up included Blasterjaxx, Tomswon and Julian Jordan. ‘The Q Dance team usually get the system they ask for on their rider, and were a bit suspicious when they saw the Nexo STM system for the first time,’ said James Lee of A-Works. ‘But the show was such a success, they gave it the thumbs-up!’
