Next-proaudio equips Dahua theatres

CHINA: Dahua, China’s oldest and largest textiles company, houses an all-encompassing community. The site on which it is located comprises an abundance of amenities ranging from a mall and cultural centre, to heritage museum, shopping district and a cluster of small theatres. Real Music recently embarked on a project to install new sound systems into two of the three theatres, settling on designs built around Next-proaudio’s X-Line series.
Pioneer Theatre has a capacity of just 300 people and is mainly used for small drama, Shaanxi Opera, musical theatre and indoor-based performances. The system in this room required not only sufficient dynamics, but also good speech intelligibility. Real Music used a traditional speaker layout with two X12 speakers located in the centre position, with two X15s located at either side of the stage. Two further X12s were used to provide sound effects.
Away from the proscenium, XH18 subwoofers were stacked below X15s on the each side of the stage. LAm series speakers were chosen to provide monitoring, with two LAm112x placed five metres apart on stage.
In contrast, Opera Theatre is mainly used for traditional Chinese performances and houses a seated audience. The stage is small, with the proscenium opening measuring just 6.5m. The intelligibility of spoken words was the most important consideration while designed a system for this area. Real Music opted for X15 speakers as FOH, installed on both sides of the stage, with two additional X10s placed on the stage as mobile monitors.
