Novotel Singapore equipped with K-Array solution

SINGAPORE: Since opening in 2006, the Novotel Singapore in Clarke Quay has attracted an increasing number of business people and corporate events. The 4-star hotel has 403 rooms together with an outdoor swimming pool and the Square, Dragon Phoenix and Moghul Mahal restaurants. Its conference facilities include a wide range of meeting rooms for which its Phoenix Grand Ballroom commands star billing for weddings and events. The 525 sq-m room can be sub-divided by a screened partition should two smaller events need to be simultaneously staged.

As the demands for live event performances in the Phoenix Grand Ballroom grew over time, local systems integrator Concept Systems was engaged to install a K-Array loudspeaker system comprising four wall mounted KP102 models, powered by KA1010 amplifiers. Sennheiser Asia supplied the K-Array speakers and amplifiers including four KMT12 12-inch passive subwoofers.

Finished in black, the slim, unobtrusive 1m long speakers incorporate 12 2-inch drivers and have been wall-mounted to the stage end of the square room facing the 600-capacity audience.
‘The K-array Redline system provides very even coverage and they are ideal for either speech reinforcement or music when accompanied with the four floor-standing subwoofers,’ said Rhys Challenger, resident manager at Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay.

The speakers are mixed on the previously existing Yamaha LS9-16 console and Sennheiser ew100 wireless microphone options are available including lapel, handheld and head-worn condensers. The A/V inputs are controlled via a TPS 5.7-inch touch panel interfaced with a programmed Crestron AV2 processor.
