Parikrama joins Shure endorsement family

INDIA: Indian rock band Parikrama have become the latest group to be endorsed by the Shure brand, joining fellow sponsored musical acts Anson Hu, David Tao and Shaan.
With a preference for recording live performances over studio sessions, the band requires a high level of sound on stage. Parikrama have utilised Shure equipment for years, and their inventory list includes ULX wireless mics, KSM44A large multi-pattern dual-diaphragm models, KSM32 and SM81 cardioid condenser mics, SRH1440 and SRH940 professional headphones, a DMK57-52 drum microphone kit, a Beta 91A kick-drum mic, a PSM1000 personal monitor system and SE425 and SE535 sound isolating earphones. The band’s technical stage configuration also specifies SM57, SM58 and Beta 58A vocal microphones for all performances.
Indian Shure distributor India Sun Infonet Pvt Ltd works closely with the group. ‘Parikrama produce a dynamic live show and with more than 160 concerts a year, they need the mobility, sound quality and control of a personal monitor system,’ said Vijay Sinha, applications engineer at Sun Infonet. ‘PSM systems eliminate feedback and loud stage noise, and let you hear yourself as you perform, so it is definitely the right solution.’
‘We play very loud music on stage, the monitor levels are very high and at times, when you are jumping around all over the stage, you can’t hear the rhythm player or the drums,’ said lead guitarist Sonam Sherpa. ‘When the crowd gets too loud it can be a bit difficult to keep time. So I thought I’d give the PSM 1000 a try – and it’s awesome! It’s very, very clear – the clarity’s much better than a floor monitor. It is amazing!’
Guitarist Saurabh Choudhary stated that the band was ‘very happy to be endorsed by Shure,’ while bassist Gaurav Balani described the agreement as ‘a great honour’. ‘We are very excited to welcome them to the Shure family,’ added Alison Cheuk, senior marketing communications manager for Shure Asia Limited.
