‘Principals of Sound System Design’ seminar travels to Singapore

SINGAPORE: SynAudCon is bringing its two-day Principals of Sound System Design seminar to Singapore for the time. Taking place at the Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre on Cavenagh Road from 9AM-5PM on 20-21 August 2015, the course will cover the following topics: Room acoustics analysis, Sound fields in enclosed spaces, Loudspeaker ratings and Software tools for systems designers. The sessions will be led by SynAudCon and instructor Pat Brown.

A description of the sessions reads: ‘The acoustic environment that the loudspeaker is placed into has as much to do with how it sounds as the loudspeaker itself. Subtract the room out of the equation and all loudspeakers are intelligible. Add it back in, and only some of them are. This is a crash course in room acoustics, but presented in relevance to sound system design.’

Past SynAudCon sessions have been particularly praised for their teaching style, a multimedia approach that includes, animations, graphics and demonstrations. ‘We are often told that one picture or analogy explained a concept that they struggled with for years,’ said Mr Borwn. ‘Our goal is to shorten the learning curve. This approach has brought us to where we are today – a leader in audio education.’

This course is stated to be suitable for anyone who selects and places loudspeakers in rooms. All attendees who attend both days in full will receive a SynAudCon certificate. For those who have CTS accreditation, the certificate offers 16 RU points towards your CTS renewal.
