Pro Audio Asia welcomes new reporter Simon Luckhurst

WORLD: Pro Audio Asia, alongside its sister titles Pro Audio Middle East and Worship AVL Asia, is pleased to welcome Simon Luckhurst to its team. Taking the title of reporter, Mr Luckhurst has joined the company to replace news editor Alice Gustafson, who will leave the organisation at the end of January.
Simon Luckhurst is no stranger to the professional audio industry, having originally studied at the UK’s Academy of Contemporary Music, earning a higher diploma in music production, before moving on to the University of Surrey where he studied creative sound design. He has since worked in the rental sector whilst co-presenting his own local radio show in the UK. A keen musician, he is currently signed to three independent record labels and regularly performs in venues across the UK and Europe.
Welcoming Mr Luckhurst to his new role, editorial director Barney Jameson commented: ‘Simon shows enormous promise as an audio journalist and he has a natural enthusiasm that I believe the industry will quickly recognise. Alice is a very hard act to follow – during her time with Blank Canvas Publishing she has distinguished herself and quickly risen through the ranks. However I believe that Simon has what it takes to not only succeed in professional audio, but genuinely enjoy his new career.’
Mr Luckhurst added: ‘I’m really looking forward to taking over Alice’s role at Blank Canvas. It’s a shame she is leaving, as clearly she has been invaluable to both the company and industry. Hopefully my previous experience within the audio industry gives me an appreciation for the challenges that this sector faces and will allow me to bring you news that really matters’.
