Pro Light & Sound confirms Hall 3.1 for concert sound
Published: ASIA

WORLD: Messe Frankfurt has confirmed that audio exhibitors at the 2016 edition of Pro Light & Sound will be located in Hall 3.1, including large-format concert sound, installed sound, portable sound and networking. The confirmation comes as part of a larger announcement detailing the organiser’s plans for the 2016 reorganisation of the show, which will also include a change in opening hours (10am to 7pm) and a shift in days (Tuesday to Friday) to largely divorce it from its now entirely public MI-focused sister-show, MusikMesse.
The plans – first announced at the time of the 2015 exhibition – initially drew a mixed reaction from current exhibitors, who reacted to early rumours of a move to Hall 3.1 with concerns over the load-in to the new space and the effect the move might have on booth design. Nevertheless, Messe Frankfurt is claiming a positive response to the plans. Hall 3.1 previously hosted sheet music, percussion, acoustic guitars and violins.
Other changes include Hall 3.0 playing host to ‘theatre, studio and stage lighting, stages, trusses, stage technology and machinery’; Hall 4.0 becoming home to ‘media technology, film and camera technology, displays, video and LED’; and Hall 4.1 housing ‘microphones, recording, production and broadcasting’. In addition, ‘installed sound, networking and A/V media technology’ will also be located in Hall 4.1. Finally, Hall 5.0 will offer more lighting technology plus lasers and effects.
