CHINA: A major development in Meijiang, Guangdong aimed at boosting tourism has opted for equipment from Italian manufacturer Proel to augment its audiovisual systems.
Meizhou's Hakka World Park is a multi-purpose development stretched over a 2,000-hectare site, taking in a broad range of facilities that are intended to boost visitors to the region while aiding research, education and culture. Among its attractions for visitors is the largest azalea garden in Asia, the first museum of Hakka popular traditions and culture, a dedicated concert arena, a five-star hotel and international conference centre, a water park and even an Olympic Village. Visitors can also amuse themselves in a 3D movie theatre and nightclub. Those in search of more cultural pursuits can visit several research centres focusing on folk music, cultural relics and Chinese agriculture.
Constructed in three phases, the park was supplied in part by Proel’s Chinese distributor Suremax, who provided a range of equipment for the site’s various facilities. Included were three NEOS152P loudspeakers installed within the 3D cinema, alongside a ring of 12 EDGE25PB speakers, and a pair of EDGE121SP subwoofers to deliver low end. The cinema system is driven by three HPD3000 and four HPD3400PFC amplifiers.
Elsewhere, the site’s Conference Centre boasts eight EDGE25PB and two NEOS215SP loudspeakers driven by HPD3400PFC and HPD2000 amplifiers, alongside four EDGE8CXPW and eight SPARK65CX enclosures. Finally, the nightclub includes four NEOS10P cabinets.
The Chinese Urban Architecture Research & Design Institute was involved in planning and designing the site.
