INDONESIA: Located in South Jakarta, Lippo Mall Kemang is a fashion and lifestyle mall that is trying to draw the attention of its expat neighbourhood community away from the Indonesian capital’s longer established retail centres. The six anchor and 202 speciality tenants occupy 55,000 sq-m of space indoors, but the mall management team decided that a vacant outdoor area adjacent to a bar/dining area could be further developed with an outdor stage area for providing weary shoppers with musical entertainment.
CSA Indonesia was invited to supply the live audio equipment for the mall’s varied live sound requirements. Powered by Crown MA50001 amplifiers, JBL VT4881A line array speakers, supplemented by VT4881A subwoofers, are suspended in two hangs within wooden housing further protected from the harsh elements by a canvas covering. The lower frequencies are further extended with the addition of floor mounted JBL SRX828 SP subwoofers, brought into position when needed. On the stage itself, musicians and singers are assisted by an AKG WMS470 wireless microphone system, including D5 vocal hands, which can be monitored from a combination of PRX712 and PRX715 wedges. A dbx DriveRack 4800 processor provides a whole suite of digital loudspeaker management functions with a host of presets for all the entertainment needs of this outdoor stage.

All the musical artists who have played here have commented on how comfortable they are with the monitors and the live ambience we have created here’.
