Robert Bosch ASEAN Academy lands in Korea

KOREA: Robert Bosch (SEA) Pte Ltd recently held its annual ASEAN Conference Distributors Meeting & Pro Sound Academy 2010 in Seoul, Korea. Held in Seoul’s Ritz Carlton, delegates from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam attended the one-day conference, which hosted sales and marketing discussions, product training, case studies and guest speakers.
Among the reported highlights of the meeting were ASEAN director of sales Chan Yit Ming warmly welcoming the delegates, Asian Pacific regional product marketing manager Johannes Huth congratulating the company’s partners for its recent sales growth within the conferencing sector, and a discussion led by conference systems product marketing manager Douglas Lim on new sales and marketing applications including the Red Dot Award-winning CCS 900 Ultro Discussion System and Plena mixer amplifier.
Guest speakers also featured to present a series of regional applications including case studies on Indonesian road shows entitled One for the Road, which was delivered by the MD for PT Chandrakarya Dharmajaya, Tjandra Halim. A discussion on network management by the MD for Patararungroj Ltd in Thailand, Vachirapun Pataramongkolrit was also included , while Randy Tee, PA and conference systems product marketing manager for Robert Bosch Malaysia, led a discussion on products suitable for courthouse applications.
The Pro Sound Academy seminar was conducted at the Hotel Seoul Kyoyuk Munhwa Hoekwan, where Bosch’s Korean partner Kevic Inc set-up a full complement of Electro Voice systems for practical demonstrations. Bosch is promoting educational courses in the dealer to end user chain and this was strongly evident at the technical seminar, hosted by EV global product manager and key speaker Guillermo Wabi. A reported 300 delegates attended the event, including designers, installers, technicians and end users, with coverage including products for concert sound, portable sound, cinemas and houses of worship.
Other workshops included Wavelength & Horns - Theory & Technical Presentation, Install Applications - Introduction of the EV-Innovation series, a line array demonstration and a discussion on FIR filter theory and DSP using a live demonstration with the XLC loudspeaker models to highlight the differences between IIR and FIR.
The EV Leadership Award was also announced as a part of the event, with Chan Yit Ming presenting it to Kevic Inc CEO Byung Chul Jeoungfor the distributor’s ‘Commitment to business excellence’. Following the presentation, Mr Yit Ming commented: ‘As a leader in the communication business our constant endeavour is to educate and innovate in all our markets. We have invested time, resource and budgets to introduce some really powerful products and thanks to our network of dedicated and committed partners we have a very strong foundation.’
