CHINA: The Vision Octane digital production switcher from manufacturer Ross Video has been awarded the BIRTV Award for Audio Video products and techniques at the BIRTV 2010 exhibition. Ross Video CEO David Ross has described the award as ‘a great honour’.
BIRTV is arguably China’s premier broadcast-focused trade exhibition, with the 2010 edition currently taking place at the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing. The affiliated BIRTV Awards are widely viewed as indicators of upcoming technologies and brands, partially because industry technical specialists and broadcasters participate in selecting the winning candidates.
‘It is a great honour to receive this prestigious award from the BIRTV organisation,’ said David Ross, CEO, Ross Video. ‘It represents recognition from the experts of the Chinese broadcast industry, and acknowledgement of Vision Octane as an innovative and forward thinking product.’
Vision Octane is intended to distinguish itself in the market as the largest digital production switcher currently available. Boasting eight MLEs within an 8U chassis plus 96 inputs and 48 outputs, it is described by the manufacturer as ‘sufficient for the most demanding applications imaginable’.
