SAE Melbourne adds a pair of ASP4816s

AUSTRALIA: SAE Melbourne has invested in a pair of Audient ASP4816 consoles as part of a large redevelopment and expansion project. The educator already owns a 48-channel ASP8024 and the latest additions will be used to teach Trimester 1 students.
The redevelopment has seen SAE Melbourne expand into a neighbouring building to add five new classrooms, a 285 sq-m sound stage, four new film editing and grading suites and a new studio control room which is home to a 32-channel Avid S6 M40 as well as a large staff area.
The Audient consoles have been installed in identical studios, each exactly mirroring each other, creating a consistency between the two. ‘The Audient desks give commencing students an introduction to signal flow, basic patching, microphone techniques and a good insight into mixing - pan and level,’ explained studio technician Brad Toan. ‘The inline design is perfect for teaching signal flow, it gives the tutors the ability to really show the students how the signal is passing through the console. Of course these smaller consoles are a great stepping stone to the ASP8024 as well.
‘It is all coming together and I couldn’t be happier, or more proud of my team and what we have been able to achieve,’ concluded Mr Toan.
